Falls River Racers Training Afternoon 6/9/11

It has been both fun and amazing to watch all the children plough up and down the swimming pool during their training times as I practice my photography. The children come prepared to work hard, make friends and have fun. This they all seem to do.

Some of the swimmers are amazingly strong whilst others are struggling to keep up. But, try they will. Perhaps this is one of the fine qualities of a TSA (Tarheels Swimming Association) swimming season; the wide differences in ability. To be fair, some of the swimmers have been training all winter, but they all fit in together as a team.

I would consider that some of the children are being very brave, just making it to each practice, knowing that they will swallow their fair share of pool water and get passed by a stronger swimmer. This is where character, perseverance and other good qualities are being developed in the children.

Coaches Derek, Sabrina and Hannah are at the pool day after day in the heat and sun, working to teach children the importance of swimming. In my life, I have experienced both the fun and the dangerous power of water. It is so important to learn how to swim and learn how to avoid dangerous water situations.

With many days of sun shine and swimming to come, we at SWORD Photography really look forward to photographing the children over the coming weeks. A good place to start viewing photos of your children swimming, is with our SwimMeet+ subscription. This gets you viewing and print package ordering to all the swim meets, team photos and training that we photograph this year. Plus, you will also get a great 16 sided color Falls River Racers Event Book 2011, showcasing the best photography from the season. A great way to view and remember the 2011 swim season for years to come.

Do you want your child featured in our Blog post, or on the front page of SWORD's website? If so, then purchase a SwimMeet+ subscription, find your child swimming and send me the file name. (A model release will need to be completed and signed. See our Documents page.)

Best regards,

Richard Martin
